Hershey Bears #19, home knit by CCM worn during the 1985/86 season at the historic Hershey Park Arena. This sweater is smashed and thrashed with every bit as much wear you would expect from a
This sweater features solid game wear, including stick and puck marks, board burns and paint transfers and good general game wear showing on both sleeves, front and back body. Good hack mark showing right across, and below, the front logo.
Two team repairs showing on right sleeve; one large one in the brown portion of the elbow stripping, another just below in the cuff area, this one in white, refortified from the inside with a cut-out plate. Back of neck torn and remains un-repaired; front of neck is stretched out with errant threads showing.
Maroon glue stating from logo application bleeding through inside of the jersey when looking at the interior of the logo, some of this has bled through to the back of the jersey, as well.
The auspicious AHL 50yr anniversary patch is sewn on back right hem, directly next to a rainbow of board paint transfers common and typical of Hershey jerseys of this era from the dasher and board paint at Hershey Park Arena. Pelle Lindbergh memorial '31' sewn on left chest.
Small style embroidered CCM patch affixed on back right hem with team chain stitching, tagging gone from inside neck, however common CCM 1985 neck tag stitching flush with color pipping remains visible. Cloth loop-style fight strap sliced in the middle to create two ribbons used as fight strap tie down.
As with all Bears jerseys from this era, an outline of the original plate can be seen under the team re-applied plate prior to being made available to the public.
Mokosak fought an incredible 31 times during pre, regular and post season in 1985/86 - with a dozen fights coming at home in this jersey, including bouts v Mike Stevens Nov 27, Mitch Wilson Dec 26, Taras Zytynsky Jan 8, Yves Beudoin Jan 25, Jim Hofford Feb 26, Robin Bartell March 1, Barry Melrose March 23, Ken Spangler April 2, Chris McSorley April 16th in the playoffs, and also in the playoffs three times v Leigh Verstraete on April 23, 26 and May 3
This jersey saw it's fair share of battles, as Mokosak took on every and all comers, and worn this one all the way to the Calder Cup finals, where the Bears ultimately lost to the Adirondack RedWings.
