After being signed by Boston as a FA on Oct 1st 1985, Jay Miller wore this jersey with the Moncton Golden Fames, who split affiliation with Calgary and Boston, during the 1985/86 AHL season
Jsy Miller fighting in the very jersey featured in this exhibit
Miller wore this jersey in October and November for the Flames prior to his brief recall to Boston on 11/23/1985, and sporadicly in December and January when re-assigned by Boston.
Miller fought 5 times in this road jersey: Richard Hajdu (Nov 1st), Basil McRae (Nov 2nd), Mickey Volcan (Nov 3rd), Tom Kraals and David Bruce (both Nov 14th).
This jersey was also worn late in the season by Darwin McCutcheon who was signed by the Calgary Flames on 3/10/86 - McCutheon fought twice in this jersey, taking on Glenn Johannesen on March 29th and Dale Henry on April 4th, with both bouts coming in Springfield at the Civic Center.
This example shows fantastic game wear with nice color-coded team repair work, custom shortened sleeves and a reinforced fight strap - collar shows some nice damage from fight usage, CCM care and date tags remaining in neck. AHL 50 year patch removed from shoulder, full name ”Jay Miller” added by team prior to sale at end of season, assumedly added back to sweater by the team after removal of McCutheon name.
Miller would only play 18 games but managed to rack up a total of 113 PIMs during his time with the Golden Flames.
